Apart from Parish Staff, the content and quality of our day-to-day experience of local Church depends largely on the work of four complememtary commissions: Worship & Spirituality, Faith Formation, Social Justice & Peace, and Parish Life.

The Parish Life Commission will help generate a broad but unified experience of local Church by overseeing Parish activities assigned to it or ones that the Commission chooses to implement with approval of the Pastor. These activities may focus upon such things as sharing faith, spiritual growth, welcoming, incorporation of new members and hospitality.

Keeping in mind and valuing the mutual interdependence of the three separate worship site communities that comprise the Parish of the Ascension of the Lord, the Parish Life Commission will plan and implement Parish wide events & activities for all Parishioners, and sometimes non-parishioners. The Commission will help to support and promote -- and in some instances coordinate -- worship site events & activities, which may include fund-raising and social gatherings. The Commission will not control or interfere with independent site-based events and activities.

The Parish Life Commission accepts the responsibility of keeping informed about all events and activities in the Parish. As an information service to all Parishioners, the Commission will help collect and distribute news about Parish Life through the Parish bulletin and other means.
